Yamaha May Launch R6 in India by This Year End

2012 Yamaha R6

Yamaha is contemplating to launch their super sports motorcycle R6 in India but it will take some time. This middle weight beast will roam on Indian roads only by this year end. Looking at the aggressive pricing of the Ninja 650R, Yamaha may also price R6 very aggressively. You can accept the motorcycle to be in the price range of Rs. 6-6.5 lakhs.

2012 Yamaha R6

2012 Yamaha R6
R6 has 599cc liquid-cooled inline 4-cylinder, DOHC, 16 titanium valves, fuel injected engine with YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) and YCC-I (Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake). It got Transistor Controlled Ignition, a 6-speed w/multiplate slipper clutch transmission and a magnesium sub-frame for increased mass centralization. The handling is superb due to Deltabox aluminum frame which is best in the class and Ninja 650R can never match.

Importance of Riding Gear

Choosing the right riding gear is of great importance for anyone who is into motorcycling. It doesn’t matter whether you are riding in city or taking the highway for a long ride, you must be well equipped in terms of all the necessary riding gear.

The most essential and basic stuff is helmet, jacket, gloves, pants and boots. It’s vital that you never compromise on safety by buying cheap and inferior quality riding gear.

Safety comes first and precisely that’s the prime reason we buy riding gear. If you try to save money by buying low cost and low quality gear then you will end up not only wasting the money but also these gears will not be able to save your life.

Never buy second hand gear as it will be of no use and the person who is selling it to you must be doing for the same reason. When you buy a riding gear you must keep in mind the kind of weather you have in your country so that your gear can protect you from the weather as well.

Make sure that you chose your gear according to your use, for example if you are the kind who likes to ride for long distances then you must choose a gear that is made for cross country rides and if you are the one who rides mostly in the city then your gear should be according to your need.

Make sure that you keep take a good care of your riding care by storing it properly while it’s not in use for. This will not only make it more durable but also be able to protect you better.

R1 WGP 50th Anniversary Limited Edition

I visited this new dealership of Yamaha, Hot Wheel Yamaha in Ludhiana as my brother wants to buy a new motorcycle and he was quiet keen on having a good look on the legendary R15 also along with the KTM Duke 200 and the CBR 250R. I got so impressed with the courteous attitude of the staff and the way they have explained about the products that I decided to write this small write-up about this dealership in Ludhiana.

MP3 Hybrid 300ie from Piaggio: The Next Generation of Scooters

MP3 Hybrid 300ie from Piaggio
A few years back I wrote about the Piaggio MP3 scooter (http://carsmotorcyclesandtravel.com/vespa/vespa/piaggio-mp3-from-vespa/) and I was flooded with the question about its India launch. Well I still have no answer for this question as company has no plans of launching this beauty in India though they have showcased it in the Auto Expo 2012 New Delhi (I am including the pictures).

Royal Enfield Cafe Racer

A few years back I wrote about Royal Enfield Café racer when this was first showcased in Auto Expo 2010 at New Delhi. This time when I visited Auto Expo 2012, this had taken a more concert shape and I believe that this new concept will be launched before the next Auto Expo in 2014. I hope this will be in the market in 2013.
I really wonder how it will look like. Will it be sporting the same color and graphics that was shown in 2010 or will it will look more like what it was shown this time. There is still a suspense whether it will sport a 500cc mill or a 350cc. I am sure the other features and looks will remain the same as shown at the Auto Expo 2012. Also the beautiful red color that was shown must be the flagship color followed by other colors like black or silver.
